1. Petroglyph National Monument

You’ll need 3-4 hours to explore all of the national histories at Petroglyph. There are many different trails to choose from, with the longest being just over 2 hours long. You’ll see some spectacular views overlooking the valley and Sandias en route (bring your camera!). And the incredible petroglyphs are scattered all over the area, which can make it a fun treasure hunt too. It’s a great way to get out of the city without travelling too far. 2. Sandia Peak Tramway

With many inside areas that you can bird and turtle watch. And inside these areas, there are lots of exhibitions with lots of interesting information about the wildlife too.

8. Sandia Crest

Sandia Crest offers spectacular 360 views for 80-100 miles overlooking Albuquerque Santa Fe and Rio Rancho. It’s about a 30-minute drive to the top, but of course, you can choose to hike too.
